*Presentation from our previous exchange student Emma Hackathorn whom was in Sweden! First thing she wanted to do was to thank Windsor Rotary for sponsoring her exchange, she will never forget the wonderful memories.
Photos of some of her favorite spots/memories:
-Cray fish party in July-she loves cray fish!
-Sailing trip, Hockey game, visiting a very old Castle-but can’t remember how old?!!
-Beautiful train station, she did a lot of traveling on that train. Very easy to get around in Sweden by train. This is how she kept up with seeing other students in the area.
-Lots of beautiful wilderness. SNOW!! And a photo of her very 1st snowman.
-Emma’s host brother was deaf, so she learned sign language to be able to communicate with him.
-She also had a tragedy…her best friend and her grandfather were in a car accident..she is ok now, but a long recovery.
-Her second host family took her to Paris and Copenhagen where they attended the Mid Summer Festival
-She said she really loved the way the people in Sweden know how to enjoy life, not as much stress, and they take time to relax.
-The 1st thing she realized when she returned home, was how blessed she is by living in Sonoma County-it is just so beautiful here!
-She ended by speaking to us in Swedish!!
*Next Sato, our exchange student from Paraguay, gave a short presentation about his life in his home country:
Family photos of dad and family, and then mom and her family.
-He speaks Spanish and Guarani
-His favorite things he has experienced since being here: Trips with other exchange students, and time spent with some of the Rotarians
-The HS is so big, but he loves it!
He also was asked by the membership, his impressions of Sonoma County and the people he has met? He said that it has surpassed his expectations! So much fun, and everyone is so nice and friendly.
-His future goals? He wants to be a Doctor!
